We all know that social networks are now the important part of our life. We spend a lot of time on them. If you are also a social addict, then here is a great news for you. The well known organization, Microsoft has already announced their social networking site “So.Cl” (pronounced as Social).
So.Cl was launched silently and I think most of you have not heard about it. Well, basically So.Cl is combination of micro-blogging site Twitter and legend king of social media viz. Facebook. It is worth noticeable that some of the features of Google+ are also included. So in case you are on all these networks, So.Cl will help you to communicate things easily.
So without wasting your time anymore, lets test out what So.Cl adds to communication…
Multiple Network Connectivity
This is the best thing of So.Cl, it connects with other network at integral stage. To get into So.Cl, you don’t need to create an account. Simply log in to your Facebook or Windows Live account and go!

This functionality is still not served by Google+. However you can post status between Facebook and Twitter.
Feed Explorer
Likewise other social sites, So.Cl also provides the news center for exploring What’s new. This is obvious that the posts increase as you go down to bottom of the page. You can sort out the stories using left pane provided options. Here is the metro look of feed explorer:

As you can see in the image above, default feed is Explore. This section covers post from entire network (similar to What’s Hot in Google+), so you can see whom you are not following. The next type of Feed is People I Follow. When you click on it, you are shown posts only from the people you are following. When you click Interests, posts related to your interests are shown. You have to create your interests by typing one or more keywords in the search bar towards the left of the screen.
Follow People
This is similar to Twitter‘s feature and most of you are familiar with it. Once you followed someone, you will start getting the updates form particular person you’ve followed. This is as simple as adding a friend on Facebook!

When you follow someone, you can choose the options for what type of updates you want to get from that buddy. This is the good thing and will surely help you to sort out the stories form most active buddies. Follow button results in two type of communities viz. Followers and Following.
Video Parties
Another useful feature of So.Cl is that you can create a collection of related videos and name it something for sharing and using later. So.Cl calls it video party for some reason. The interface looks like Movie Maker to me.

You can keep on adding videos to the timeline by clicking on the plus button and all the movies in the timeline will play one after another. I do not see much of a use for this feature though as you can create playlists in YouTube too. Even then, I created a video list about Windows 8 and few people liked it so I guess people are interested in video parties.
Multiple Network Share
With So.Cl, you can share your posts up to three networks simultaneously without using any third party app. This is the most useful thing since it saves our time, thus increases our efficiency.

For each post on So.cl, you can post a Riff (a visual comment) or a normal text comment. In addition, you can tag the post with your own keywords so that you can find them later easily. You can also email the post to someone if you want.
Conclusion
So.Cl, so far has not gained so much popularity as expected. When Google+ was launched, people were gone absolute madness but there seems no such thing with So.Cl. However the popularity of this network is supposed to expand in some near future. You can join me on So.Cl using following link:
Due to similarity, most of people want to stay with legend networks as they are now familiar with their features and connected with their loved ones on them. If they shift, they have to start everything again and thus they got frustrated. If So.Cl expands some of their functionalism, then a change is worth to see! Like to hear from you now…
