[FIX] Action Center Not Working In Windows 10

I had great results simply renaming the EDB001F file in C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/TileDataLayer/Database

My action centre icon was not showing on the taskbar
when i went to notifications and actions it does not even showing to turn on or turn off the action centre
it jus showing the name but i cant turn on it

I can’t turn on or off my action centrer in my hp windows 10

Tried both fix (1 and 2), neither solve my problem. Notifications are missing, no sound when new hardware is attached or ejected (and no notification message).

There is no such file in the folder which Benjamin mentions.

I never reply on these things BUT, It took me weeksss searching and trying (my start menu & action center were not responding) and thanks to you the 2nd fix worked for me.

if you get ‘The action can’t be completed because the file is open in System‘ warning, follow steps mentioned here to overcome this issue.
Follow next steps reboot and still have problem of not being able to complete

My notifications were working but I could not open the action centre. I tried the fix you suggested if I got the msg “The Action Can’t Be Completed Because The Folder Or A File In It Is Open In System” (when renaming UsrClass.dat) The fix only deals with the message “The Action Can’t Be Completed Because The Folder Or A File In It Is Open In another program”. Before starting the fix I closed all other windows and tabs. The fix does not deal with the file being open in System!!

This shows up after after doing the Powershell thing. My action center wont open. Settings in the start menu doesn’t open and when I right click and try to “personalize” it doesn’t work either.

this doesn’t work and now I can’t even open my settings

i did everthing as above got not problem in powershell but as benjamin suggestion there is not TileLayer Db in that path in my windows
still the problem is not solved

Don’t run the powershell command, it broke some of my apps.

I don’t have a usrclass.dat file in that folder. Should I try Benjamin’s suggestion?

Hello. I tried tried both of your methods, follow the extra instructions but still cannot rename the file. The other tip suggested, I do not have a directory called TileDataLayer. Anything else I can do? thanks in advance.

Hey Kapil, I tried but fixes dont work. Can you tell me how to reverse fix 2? I ran that command, and since it didn’t help, I want to reverse its effects.

what your powershell command line actually do? how that fix a thing? i’ve done your 2nd step and now its seem that my action center cant even recieve any notification.

^^ after restarting and testing some of the notification, its seem my action center has work properly now. thank you

im back and bringing some bad news, the notification bug returned just like before. its say some notification but when you open it there is no notification to show. sadly its method above doesnt seem to fix the issue. do you know why the issue persist? or do you have some other methods?

how did windows become this rubbish. There shouldn’t be a need to scour the internet trying to find a solution to a 4 year old bug that an automatic update should fix. Terrible.

everytime i get a notification window, it becomes stuck on my screen! pls help. the window stays on the screen during gameplay and needs a restart of the computer to remove.

i have to disable my firewall to get some games going, so its a windows security window giving me an option to turn on protection. you cannot interact with this window at all though
