If it doesn’t works on another device as well, it may be malfunctioned.
Recently, I went to back-up my Samsung A14e. II usually just do it the old way of copy and paste the folders into a master folder with date on my computer. This time I saw the Samsung Smart Switch App. I downloaded it to both the cellphone and computer. I do not recall it saying not to use on a computer. I hit the button and it transferred the files using the App. When I went to open the Micro-SD Card folder on my computer the files within the main folder, things were all scrambled. I had empty folders, files in wrong the wrong folders, etc. I download the files via the old way, copied and pasted into a new folder no issues. I decided to remove the App from my computer, no noticable issues. I unplugged my phone to got to another room for a few minutes. When I cam back I plugged in the cellphone and it said it was set for charging only. So I went in and reset it for tethering/ fle transfers: it did not work when I tried to access my phone via the computer. I ran diagnostics, which advised me there was nothing plugged in. I did on-online research, ran program manager, reinstalled drivers, etc. I tried 2 USB sticks in several USB ports (2 of which I use for keyboard and wireless mouse) and the computer found the thumb drive in a port drive with no issue. Ran virus and malware software programs, even restarted the compute. As of today 8/22/26 the computer still won’t recognize phones, including two older phones that had worked before the Samsung App. I contacted Samsung the checked with technical support who said it was the port/ PC hardware, not their program. To which I replied, if it is my hardware / USB ports that are the issues, how come the USB ports work fine with USB sticks. The representative checked again with Technical Support who said it still was not the software. Then the representative notified me that Samsung consider the issues closed and would not have any further contact me on this particular issue. Based on the above information provided above, I am mostly out of ideas. Can you suggest or help me. Thank your for your time.
