Bluetooth is one of the most common devices for connecting wireless devices to the PC. But certain users have come across an issue where Bluetooth is greyed out on Windows 11/10 while accessing it. This article will assist such users with some easy fixes which they can follow for fixing the issue.

Fix 1: Updating Bluetooth Drivers

The first fix which the users can try is updating the Bluetooth Drivers. For doing that, follow the steps below-

Step 1- Firstly, open Device Manager.

Step 2- Now, expand the Bluetooth category and select the Bluetooth adapter.

Step 3- Next, right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver.

Step 4- Lastly, click Search automatically for updated driver software. This will allow Windows to search and install the available updates. Restart the PC if required. See if this solved the issue and if not proceed with the fixes below.

Fix 2: Uninstalling latest Windows Update

Sometime, the latest Windows Update may be incompatible with the system of the PC. Hence, try uninstalling any latest updates for fixing the Bluetooth issue.

Step 1- Open Control Panel.

Step 2- Select Programs and Features and click View installed updates.

Step 3- Lastly, right-click the latest downloaded updates and select Uninstall.

Fix 3: Performing a Clean Boot

Performing a clean boot is another fix which the users can try when the above fixes are not working. To perform a clean boot, follow the steps given below-

Step 1- At first, press Windows + R and open the run dialog box. Now, copy and paste the command given below and open System Configuration.

Step 2- Now, go to General tab of the System Configuration windows and deselect Load startup items under Selective startup. Additionally, select Load system services and Use original boot configuration.

Step 3- Further, visit the Services tab and select Hide all Microsoft Services.

Step 4- Next, select Disable all and disable all Microsoft services.

Step 5- Again, navigate to Startup > Task Manager > Startup > Startup apps. Thereafter, disable all the startup items.

Step 6- Lastly, select Apply > OK and save all the changes. Also, reboot the PC if necessary.

Fix 4: Running Bluetooth Troubleshooter

Apart from the above fixes, the users can also try running the Bluetooth troubleshooter. It will find and fix any issue found in Bluetooth. Follow the steps for doing the same in Windows 11.

Step 1- Open Settings.

Step 2- Next go to System > Troubleshooter > Other troubleshooters > Bluetooth. Then, press Run.

For, running the Bluetooth Troubleshooter in Windows 10, follow the steps below-

Step 1- Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Bluetooth.

Step 2- Next, click Run the Troubleshooter and follow any prompt appearing on the screen for running the troubleshooter.

Fix 5: Restarting the PC and the Router

A simple restart of the PC can also help in fixing the problem Thus, the users can both restart the PC and the router and see if it solves the Bluetooth issue.

Fix 6: Updating BIOS

Another fix which the users can attempt is updating the BIOS if available. This will help to update any outdated version of BIOS and in return solve the problem.

Step 1- At first, go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates to check for BIOS updates.

Step 2- Next, download and install the correct version of BIOS for the system if any BIOS updates are found.

Fix 7: Changing Bluetooth Services

Lastly, if any of the above fixes does not work, then the users can try checking the Bluetooth services. They must ensure that these services are set to default and are running using the steps provided below-

Step 1- Firstly, type Win + R and open Run dialog box.

Step 2- Now, copy and paste the prompt below in the box and press Enter. The Services window will appear.

Step 3- Now, check if Bluetooth services are running properly. These services include- Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service, Bluetooth Support Service, and Bluetooth User Support Service_e430804, Bluetooth Driver Management Service, Bluetooth Handsfree Service, etc.

Step 4- Ensure that all these services are set to their default and are running. If they are not running, select the Start Service for starting the service.
